Edit Any Page

Once you have a free account, and are logged in, just click the "edit" button at the top of any page to edit that page. Use the Sandbox Page to play around and learn how to use a wiki.

Create Links

Internal Links

Anytime you want to make a link from one wiki page to another page of the wiki, simply enclose the title of the other page in double-brackets. So go into editing mode, then put double brackets around the name of the page you want to link to, so it would look like this: [[My Other Page]]. Then once you save the page, it will be a link that looks like this: My Other Page. Please be aware, it is CASE SENSITIVE.

External Links

To link to other URLs, you can just paste the URL into the editor. If you want certain words to be the hyperlink, enclose it with single brackets leaving a space after the URL, then put in the words, then the ending bracket. In the editor it would look like this: [http://www.myurl.com My URL] which ends up looking like this: My URL

Add New Pages

Here are three different ways you can make new pages on the wiki...

You could use this box

Just put your title in this box:

<createbox> bgcolor=#f5fffa width=20 buttonlabel=Create a new page </createbox>

Or you could change the URL above

Simply remove the last words from the URL above (in this case "Help:Contents"), then add the words (that you want as the title of your new page), and press your enter key. You'll either go to an existing page by that name, or create a new one. Click into the editing tab to edit your new page.

Or you can create a page by creating a new link on an existing page

Another easy way to add a new page is to use an existing page to create a link to the page you want to create. Anytime you want to make a link from an existing wiki page to another page of the wiki (even if it will be a new page that doesn't exist yet), simply enclose words (to be the title of the pag) in double-brackets. For example, if I wanted to create a link to a new page named "My New Page" I would go into editing mode on this page, and enclose the words "My New Page" in double brackets like this: [[My New Page]]. Then save the page. Once it's a link, like this: My New Page, click on it to get to that new page, then click into the editing tab of that page.
