Norwood Intranet

This image shows the network drives that appear for users on the network. Our goal was to establish consistent, logical, and accessible file storage space. Within each network drive we provide an organized and efficient folder structure.

  1. My Documents is a home directory for every user on the network; the desktop icon is mapped to this directory through system policy and log-on scripts.
  2. The Storage directory is for large-size files such as music and video [the back-up schedule for this directory is not as frequent as for the others].
  3. The Users directory lists each grade level by their class year (e.g. "2006Class") so that these folders (and associated system scripts) do not need to be edited each year as the grades advance.
  4. Faculty Departments has shared folders for each academic department.
  5. Outlook Data stores the email data file for each person.
  6. Public contains a public folder for each employee.
  7. BlackBaud is our student information system.
  8. Shared Docs is an open storage area for faculty that includes our digital photo archive.
  9. Grade Level Files includes a shared folder for each grade that students in that grade have access to, as well as all faculty.
